On January 15, 2014, Deputy Pontorno responded to Walmart in California for a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention personnel heard the anti-theft alarm activate at the front doors and responded to the area. They found suspect, Bryant Mitchell Richardson, 24, of Lexington Park, exiting the doors with a television, which had not been paid for. The value of the television was over $250. Richardson was charged with Theft Under $1,000 by Criminal Citation.
On January 15, 2014, Deputy Schultz responded to a residence on Daisy Lane in Lexington Park for a violation of a protective order. The victim alleged suspect Natia Amanda Milburn-Hall, 28, of Lexington Park, called the victim repeatedly in violation of an active protective order. The investigation revealed Milburn-Hall had called the victim over 15 times. Deputy Schultz located the suspect and placed her under arrest. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Violation Protective Order, Telephone Misuse – Repeat Calls, and Harassment – Course of Conduct.
On January 14, 2014, Deputy Lance responded to the Kohl’s Store in Lexington Park for a theft. Loss personnel observed suspect Martia Shemethia Hayward, 33, of Great Mills, conceal a pari of blue jeans on her person then exit the store without paying. Hayward was charged with Theft Under $100 by Criminal Citation.
On January 16, 2014, Deputy Schultz responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for a fight between inmates. The investigation revealed suspect Thomas Oakley Burch III, 49, of no fixed address, threw a cup of liquid on another inmate. Burch was charged with 2nd Degree Assault DOC Employee (inmate).
On January 16, 2014, Deputy T. Shomper responded to the Walmart in California for a theft. Loss prevention personnel observed a suspect, later identified as Michael David Mahar Jr., 36, of Leonardtown, place several items of merchandise a plastic Walmart bag and attempt to leave without paying. The value of the merchandise was over $220. Mahar was charged with Theft Under $1,000 by Criminal Citation.
On January 16, 2014, Deputy J. Shomper responded to a residence on Liberty Street in Lexington Park, for a disturbance. Neighbors reported yelling and the sound of glass breakage coming from the residence. Deputies located suspect Antonio Djuan Wallace, 23, of Lexington Park, yelling at his girlfriend outside of the residence. Initially, Wallace went back inside the residence. However, when Deputy Shomper went back to the apartment to retrieve an item for the girlfriend, Wallace began to yell and act in a disorderly manner. Wallace then took a fighting stance toward Deputy Shomper. Deputy Shomper told Wallace he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back – Wallace refused. Wallace resisted as officers attempted to place him into custody. Eventually, Wallace was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, and Resisting Arrest.
On January 18, 2014, deputies responded to the area of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park to assist the Maryland State Police with a large crowd. Once police arrived the crowd began to disperse, at which time suspect Shanta Latoya Mackall, 27, of Lexington Park, began to scream obscenities. She refused all orders made by officers for her stop. Mackall was advised she was under arrest and Deputy Kerns attempted to place her in handcuffs. Mackall pulled her arms away resisting arrest. She was quickly subdued and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
On January 16, 2014, Corporal Smolarsky responded to Food Lion in Leonardtown for a theft. The Emergency Communications Center broadcast a lookout for the suspect and provided the description of the vehicle he had fled the scene in. Upon entering the area, Corproal Smolarsky observed the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop. She made contact the occupant and at that time observed two packages of steaks in plain view. The suspect was identified as Phillip Randolph Adams, 34, of Hollywood. Adams was charged with Theft Under $100 by Criminal Citation.
On January 19, 2014, Deputy Murphy responded to a residence in Mechanicsville for an assault. The victim alleged suspect Thomas Lee Cromwell, 33, of Mechanicsville, struck the victim in the face with his fists and burned the victim’s forehead with a lit cigarette during an argument. Cromwell then grabbed a juvenile victim by the neck and commenced to swinging the juvenile around. Deputy Murphy observed fresh evidence of injury on both victims. Cromwell was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and Child Abuse – 2nd Degree by Custodian.
On January 19, 2014, Deputy Flerlage met with a victim at Sheriff’s Office Headquarters. The victim alleged suspect Sylvester Leroy Parran, 25, of Lusby, shoved the victim into a shower door during an argument over their relationship while at a residence in Lexington Park. The suspect followed the victim into the bedroom where he forced the victim to the floor on the stomach and jumped on the victim’s back. The victim was 7 months pregnant at the time of the assault. Deputy Flerlage observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim. Parran was located and placed under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Assault.
