ARRESTS

On February 8, 2014 Deputy Lawrence responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for an assault on an inmate. The investigation revealed inmate Aaron Jamaal Hudson, 19, of Lexington Park, struck the victim in the face repeatedly. Hudson was charged with 2nd Degree Assault on DOC Employee (inmate).

On February 8, 2014 Deputy Gaskill responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for an assault on an inmate. The investigation revealed inmate Shane Adam Corcoran, 25, of Bushwood, struck the victim in the face. Corcoran was charged with 2nd Degree Assault on DOC Employee (inmate).

On February 8, 2014 DFC Boyer conducted a check of a suspicious vehicle in the Great Mills area. DFC Boyer made contact with a passenger in the vehicle James Ignatius Hebb 48, of No Fixed Address. During a conversation with Hebb he advised DFC Boyer he was in possession of a CDS smoking device. The device was turned over to DFC Boyer and contained CDS residue, Hebb was arrested and charged Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance – Not Marijuana and possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

On February 9, 2014 Dep. Bankhead responded to a disorderly subject in a residence. As Dep. Bankhead approached the residence he observed Eric Benjamin Briscoe 19, of Lexington Park in the residence yelling and screaming loudly. Briscoe observed Dep. Bankhead and exited the residence still yelling with his fists clenched and raised chest high in a fighting stance. Briscoe was ordered to cease yelling and not to approach in an aggressive manner. Briscoe continued his course of conduct while approaching Dep. Bankhead. Dep. Bankhead attempted to arrest Briscoe, he resisted and kept yelling. Briscoe was arrested and charged with 1 Count of Assault-Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order and Resisting Arrest.

On February 9, 2014 Dep. Phelan, Dep. Gaskill and Cpl. O’Conner responded to serve Stephen Michael Annan 42, of Mechanicsville with a vacate Protective Order. Annan refused to leave the residence after being served with the order. Annan was advised he was under arrest and balled his fists and raised his arms in a fighting stance striking Dep. Gaskill in the head with a closed fist. Annan continued to resist arrest by punching and pushing the deputies. The Taser had to be deployed and Annan was arrested and charged with Violation of a Protective Order, resisting Arrest and three counts of Second Degree Assault.

On February 10, 2014 Dep. Bankhead, Dep. Schultz and DFC Boyer responded to the Super Eight Motel for the report of a disturbance. As the deputies approached they observed the loud disturbance in the hallway with five subjects. As officers were separating the subjects to interview them Joseph Poole Kline 30, of No Fixed Address obstructed the investigation. Kline was yelling profanities at the deputies and approaching them aggressively. Kline was ordered to stop yelling and cease his aggressive behavior however failed to do so. Kline was told he was under arrest and resisted by pulling away and placing his arms in front of him. A large fixed blade Bowie knife was concealed in Kline’s right back pocket. Kline was arrested and taken to the detention center. Upon arrival at the detention center a small pill of suspected oxycodone was located on Kline. Kline was charged with Obstructing & Hindering, Dangerous Weapon-Conceal, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order, Resisting Arrest, CDS Possession: Not Marijuana, and Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.
