Bomb Threat in Hollywood, MD

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack.  The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

On June 4, 2013 at approximately 1400 hours, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) was contacted by school officials at the St. Johns School in Hollywood, Maryland.  A written bomb threat had been located within the school.  School officials immediately contacted law enforcement, evacuated the school and quickly notified parents.  Upon arriving on scene, officers and a bomb detecting K-9 thoroughly checked the school.  Nothing suspicious was located during the search.

Detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Crime Lab Technicians promptly responded and assumed the investigation.  School officials at the St. Johns School are fully cooperating with detectives to quickly resolve the incident.  At no time does it appear any students at the school were in danger.
